DOWNLOADABLE DRONE GUIDE LAUNCHED FOR SPRAY DRONE OPERATORS

IOWA CITY, IA [January 3, 2025] – Rantizo, the largest drone spraying network in the country, announces the release of a new free resource: the Ultimate Guide to Starting an Agricultural Drone Spraying Business. The guide was created to equip individuals with the information and tools needed to start a spray drone business.

Developed by a team of expert spray drone operators at Rantizo, the comprehensive guide includes essential information and insights. It speaks to the growing demand for drone spraying services, shares startup costs and potential return-on-investment, outlines Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulatory guidelines, and includes a step-by-step checklist to get started.

“As agriculture evolves, spray drones are proving to be an affordable, effective tool for delivering crop protection where and when it is needed,” says Mariah Scott, CEO at Rantizo. “To support the growing demand for spray drone services, we leveraged our team’s expertise to develop the resources to help growers, retailers, and ag entrepreneurs explore the opportunity.”

According to a survey of spray drone operators conducted by the American Spray Drone Coalition, approximately 10.3 million acres were sprayed using drones in 2024. This represents a substantial increase from 2023, when more than 4 million acres were sprayed using drone technology – a nearly 158% year-over-year increase.

“With the increasing demand for precision agriculture services, the need for highly qualified and skilled spray drone operators is rapidly growing,” says Kevin McDonald, Chief Pilot at Rantizo. “We created this guide to support those hoping to enter the spray drone industry meet this growing demand. The guide offers a solid foundation to get an operator started.”

While the guide was developed to support newcomers to the industry, it also serves as a resource for existing spray drone operators. Experienced operators will find the guide to be a helpful reminder for FAA compliance, monthly reporting, and opportunities to extend their spray season.

The Ultimate Guide to Starting an Agricultural Drone Spraying Business can be downloaded through the Rantizo website by completing the form on this page: www.rantizo.com/droneguide.
